How many toilets does a job site need?

OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51(c), Table D-1, sets the floor: one toilet for 20 or fewer workers, one seat and one urinal per 40 workers from 20 to 199, and one per 50 above 200. Our comfort rule is one unit per 10 workers on weekly service. OSHA's Bridgeport Area Office oversees private job sites in this part of Connecticut.

Billing

How does monthly billing work?

Job-site units bill every 28 days with one service visit per week included. The first cycle carries the delivery and pickup charge; later cycles don't. Billing stops when you call for pickup — not when the job ends — so call a day or two before you wrap.

From 150 recorded callsIn the long-term calls we reviewed, the dispatcher had to warn callers that billing keeps running until they call for pickup. Put the pickup call on your punch list.

Need it on site today?

Call before noon and dispatch can usually put you on today's truck. You get the full price — delivery, pickup, fuel, tax — before you pay.

Where should the unit go on a Bridgeport lot?

Put it on firm ground at the curb side of the lot, within about 15 feet of where the service truck can stop, clear of the dumpster drop zone and away from neighbors' windows. On windy shoreline lots we stake it down; in winter, keep it out of the plow path.

Crews that move

What if the crew moves every few days?

Utility and paving crews can rent a towable unit or call us to relocate a standard unit. For low-use sites, ask about an on-call service plan instead of weekly.

Questions callers asked about this

What does a monthly job-site toilet cost?

In those calls, monthly construction units ran about $190–$285 per 28-day cycle with weekly cleaning, plus a one-time delivery-and-pickup charge of roughly $35–$165. The second cycle costs less because the trip charge isn't repeated.

How many toilets does an 8-person roofing crew need?

OSHA requires 1 for 20 or fewer workers. With weekly service, one unit serves a crew of 8 comfortably for a 40-hour week.

It's summer and hot. Can we get cleaning twice a week?

Yes. A second weekly visit is priced on the quote. Busy crews and hot August weeks are when it pays off.

Can I put the rental under my business name?

Yes. Quotes, invoices and receipts can carry your company name and a PO number.

Do you have a toilet mounted on a trailer we can move along the job?

Yes, towable units exist for crews that move every few days, such as utility line work. Ask dispatch about availability and the service plan.
