What 150 Porta Potty Rental Calls Revealed

Pink event toilets with two-sided wash stations

We reviewed 150 recorded porta potty rental calls from 2025 and 2026 to see what renters actually ask. A few numbers changed how our Bridgeport dispatch desk answers the phone.

Who calls?

Events dominate. 77 of 150 calls (51%) were for parties, weddings, memorials, races and festivals. About a quarter were job sites and remodels; the rest were water emergencies, pump-outs, seasonal sites and monthly rentals.

Why the weekend rule confuses people

Callers want a toilet for five hours on Saturday and hear it will arrive Friday and leave Monday. One in three calls needed that explained. Once callers learned the extra days were free — and cheaper than a Saturday pickup — nobody objected.

The address problem

About 20 callers had no street address: parks, ball fields, cemeteries, a new school not yet on maps, an Army range, a rural camp road where GPS points to the fire station. Every one was solved with a pin, coordinates or turn-by-turn notes.

Why so few booked on the spot

Only 9 of 150 callers paid on the first call. About 40 were booking for someone else — a parent, a pastor, a board, a city grant — and needed a written quote first. That's why we email or text a full quote in minutes.

What we changed

Local dispatch, every fee on the quote, the weekend rule explained in the first minute, and pins accepted as addresses. Those four habits answer most of what 150 callers struggled with.
