Restrooms for a Memorial or Celebration of Life at Home
Several of the calls we reviewed came from families planning a memorial at a home, a lakeside camp or a cemetery. The questions were gentle and practical: how many, where, and how to keep it out of sight.
How many restrooms for a memorial?
For 60 guests over a few hours, one standard toilet and a wash station is usually enough. For 200 to 300 guests at a large property, plan 4 to 6 units or a 4-stall restroom trailer if power and water are available.
How do you keep it discreet?
We deliver the day before and place the unit beside the garage or at the bottom of the driveway, facing away from the gathering. A canopy over the door adds privacy.
What about older guests?
Add one wheelchair-accessible unit on a level path. Accessible units have no sink, so place a wash station beside it.
Graveside services
Cemeteries rarely have a street address for the plot. Send a pin and the section name, and we'll place the unit near the parking area.

Related questions
Can I rent for a memorial at home without it looking out of place?
Yes. We deliver the day before and place the unit beside the driveway or garage, out of sight of the gathering. A wash station next to it is a kind touch for guests.
Does the accessible unit have a sink?
No. The accessible unit gives up sink space to keep a full 60-inch turning circle for a wheelchair. Add a wash station next to it.
How do we give people privacy? Should we put it under a canopy?
Place the unit beside the driveway or behind a hedge, facing away from the tent. A canopy over the door works too; just leave the roof vent clear.
