When does a Bridgeport event need a permit?
Events on city property or in city parks need a permit through Bridgeport's Office of City Events. The city asks organizers to apply at least 30 days ahead and to carry liability insurance.

How are park events approved?
Events in city parks also go before the Board of Park Commissioners, which meets on the second Tuesday of each month. Miss a meeting and you may wait another month, so apply early.
Who else signs off?
Food vendors need Health Department approval, and larger events need a police operations plan. Public Facilities may assess fees for trash and waste handling.
How many toilets should the plan show?
One toilet per 50 attendees for 4 hours, more for longer days or alcohol, at least 5% accessible per cluster under the 2010 ADA Standards, and a wash station for every 3–4 toilets near food.
